cpi again? maybe MFI conversion

i changed my cpi out like 2 years ago and now my truck has started idleing a little rough and if it sits all night and i smell the intake it smells like gas. could it have gone up again? no ses and drives other wise ok. about 260 on 16 gals of fuel. not to bad. most of it is city. it a 95 with the cpi. obd 2 version. now i read in one of the performance posts about replaceing the Poppet injection with a MFI. can i do this and is it worth it. i'd like to keep the intake i got on it. i like how when around 2,500-3,000 when the intake valve opens up it feels like turbo. also the exhaust has got a smell of gas to it when it's cold. it was fine and then one day it started idleing bad. it idles like it's cammed up which is kinda cool but i know something's wroung. any idea on what to do?

It may be cracked fuel lines inside the plenum. Anything that causes the motor to misfire will give the exhaust a gasoline smell. Done a tune-up lately?

This upgrade is for the 96+ sfi engines. Its suppose to be more reliable than what these trucks came with from the factory.

Re: cpi again? maybe MFI conversion

Looks like the plenum needs to be opened again.
Did you see the post where you can order the nut kit and/or regulator from the auto parts stores that have the HELP parts display? Fair prices and pretty quick delivery.
