Rally of Germany Porsche 911 GT3 pics

Does anyone have pics of the Porsche 911 GT3 from the 2001 Rally of Germany? I was hoping to find some for the Pirelli decals that Studio27 makes. This new transkit by Renaissance should be a very close interior.

Hello,

I have several pics somewhere but I can put a hand back on my 2001 pics ! (stil paper pics...)

What I can say is that this new Renaissance TK is wrong for the Pirelli GT3 of W. Röhrl !
the inside was exactly a road car inside except for the roll cage and a fire extinguisher. (I was at the start of a stage and could lokk at the car very close)
the only other thing change was the exhaust system which ended in the center of the rear spoiler.
If you have the Tamiya GT3 just only not put the fitted carpet behind the seats and put a roll cage and a fire extinguisher, then you'll have the Pirelli GT3 !

If by chance you can scan those pics I would be eternally greatful. Thanks for the heads up on the interior. Was it not a requirement for them to have a full size spare or was that under the front bonnet?

Damn it! The GT3 RS was planned as one of my comeback kits. Oh well, I'm still keen to go ahead with it.

Hi Nic,

I am desesperatly trying to find them back ! I have a sub from this rally to build and I need to see some details... but I can remind where they are, I am even wondering if I didn't give them to some one that would have "forgotten" to give them back to me...

I will move all my flat if needed but I swear I will find them back... one day !

you're talking about spare wheel, right ?
It wasn't inside the car, I guess under front bonnet, yes.
As I said, except the roll cage, the exhaust and the 6-points safety belts I still didn't mentioned it was stricly a road car

I have a video of it somewhere, on my hard drive this time I will try to upload it aiming to share it.

Re: Rally of Germany Porsche 911 GT3 pics

Hi,

the only way to build this car correct seems to me:

using the GT3 Carrera Cup 2001 from Scale Production ( www.scaleproduction.de/resinkits.htm ) together with the Tamiya GT3 kit.

If you use another model, the Studio27 decals are not correct

Hello Micha,

I feel confused but why would the "decals" not be correct without a TK for body...??
there's something i don't understand in what you said...

Decals are correct or aren't, whatever is the body.

and precisely concerning the body I don't see what in ScaleProduction TK would make tamiya kit more accurate or correct (pic is very small on the site...)

For what I could talk about the car at the Deutschland rallye (and what said Walter himself), this GT3 is only a pure road car with roll cage and new exhaust pipe !?!

Shall I worry about what I believe ??

Here you can find a video of this Porsche:

bye

Re: Rally of Germany Porsche 911 GT3 pics

Hi Phil,

sorry, may be I wrote less words .

Like you I think the Renaissance transkit is wrong to build this special W. Röhrl Pirelli car and the inside was a road car inside with roll cage and a fire extinguisher.
So in my opinion the Scaleproduction fits better, it has just a "naked" (= metal) interior.

So if you use the St27 decals with the Renaissance or Domino transkit, the finished car is "wrong" (interior is not according to the 1:1 car). I didn´t intend to say, that the Renaissance or Domino transkits are wrong, but they don´t fit with these decals.

Can you now understand what I meant ?

Hi Micha,

Yes I understand, we are both thinking renaissance TK is wrong for Walter's car !

I just didn't see why you talk about decals, but Ok, decals are wrong if kit isn't right...
I first understood that decals would be wrong if not using Scale Porduction TK... Maybe I was too tired but now I see what you meant.

Bye
Phil
