my encounter with a civic....damn...
well its my buddys civic....I have raced him before but not with his SECRET....ok it goes something like this.....last weekend we were headed to a meet...needless to say who could resist alittle highway fun....he drives a little fast so I have to catch up to him.....I get on his right side and give him a grin....he gives one back and then looks forward....now I know its game....we slow down to sixty...I down shift to third.....my engine is now screaming to shift.....4500 hold then 1....2.....3.....go.....I hit it.....instantly I shift to fourth....to my suprise I gain nothing.....I look over to my right and I see him passing me pretty damn fast....with a holy shit look on my face I refused the outcome....so we went again and it was pretty much the same.....now I beat his car before....no let me rephrase that......I STOMPED HIS CAR BEFORE......but now it looks as though the tides have turned.....so we end up at the meet and start to talk.....bored annoyed and after listening to all the horse crap the other guys were talking about me and my bud decided to settle this from the dig.....so we leave the meet and go to a deserted road.....a couple our other buddys followed us....so we line up.....I hold 2500.....my buddy drops his hands......we both have really bad traction problems so pretty much first and second are useless....as soon as I shift to third I look in my passenger side rear veiw and see him about 1 1/2 to 2 cars behind.....at the end of third shifting to fourth I look to the right of me and see him right at my door.....middle of fourth he now has 1 1/2 to 2 cars on me......after three more attempts with the same results.....I came to a conclusion.....ITS TIME TO LET THE MODDING BEGIN........

nice, a h2b h22 is no joke, theres one in houston in a hatch beating all kinds of turbo 4's and some V8's. and your buddy is going turbo, hes gonna be surprising a lot of people on the street.

well before his turbo I beat him all the time......I even gave him head starts....I mean in his all motor for his h2b was quick dont get me wrong but now its just rediculous......but you know what the scary part is......HES ONLY ON 6PSI UNTUNED JUST WITH A DIFFERENT MAP......hes turning up the boost this weekend.....probably not a whole lot but eventually 26psi tuned is not far......

he has a set of 24s for the street and a set of 26s for the track.....but yes running on street tires would be like racing on ice.....

Wow, i'm surprised you didn't lose by more car lengths. That's one extensively modified Civic. I'm sure that if he is ever running over 20psi of boost that you will need alot more then just bolt ons for your SRT-4.
My buddy raced a Civic that I believe had a setup similar to your buddies, but running on more boost (Not 6 psi for sure). His turbocharged Z28 didn't due to well against the Civic.

your right, i have no idea how to launch an srt, or how to drive it tough...its not like i have an 11second srt...its not like i have 400hp on tap...its not like i make full boost by 2600rpm. your 60' time is great on the track, the street requires a different technique. on street tires, its all about modulation of the throttle...dont go wide open throttle til you can sucessfully
