Help - 2000 GP Won't Start
I have a 2000 GP, 3.8L, with ~108K on it. I recently bought a truck and now need to sell it. Since the heater blower only work on #5, I figured I better get this fixed first.
After checking around, I found this to be a common problem and that I needed to replace the heater blower resister. Although this was no easy task, I finally got it replaced. Now the blower works (all five speeds), but I have new problem. The car will no longer start and and I cannot turn the ignition back far enough to remove the key. I was able to to remove the ignition cover and depress the copper plunger to remove the key, but still cannot get the car to start. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong now and how I can fix this issue? The dealer has metioned that I may have shorted the theft module while replacing the resistor? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.. |

Re: Help - 2000 GP Won't Start
Welcome to AF.
What are you getting with ignition to on? Any IP lights? Fuel pump prime? Is the starter engaging? Could be a flaky ignition switch.

Re: Help - 2000 GP Won't Start
Double check battery connections/ battery condition too, but I agree with Bnaylor, it sounds like a bad ignition switch/harness to me also.
