280zx Turbo vs Modded 280z

Hey all,

Last night, I finally found a fellow Z driver to challenge :P

I was heading home after finding no one to race, and saw a nice looking 280z go by, so I decided to chase it...

I caught up to it and kept the rpms right where the turbo will spool instantly if I floored it... I kept hitting the gas and backing off, but he wouldnt go...

We stop at a light (i'm behind a van in my lane, hes at the front of the other lane with nobody behind him) He takes off at the green, I switch to the lane behind him, get along side him again, he finally takes the bait once we are going downhill, and pulls on me...

We stop at another light, lined up side by side, I look over and he wont look over, light turns green, I take off normal, he floors it... I floor it, we stay about even...

Stop at a stop sign a while down the road I look over and he looks at my car... I was waiting for another car to go across the intersection, but the guy in the Z took off, so I did too...

Didn't even rev the motor for the launch, just took off normal, maxed out first, he is ahead by maybe a foot... he shifts to second just before I do...

Max out second, and hold it... bad idea, he pulls ahead a bit... and i hear him shift to third...

Shift to third and instantly start gaining on him, I pull ahead and i hear him let off the gas, then instead of lining up with me at the next light to talk or whatever, he takes this exit road to the right and flies off :P

He had at least an aftermarket exhaust, because his muffler didnt look stock, and it was pretty loud and throaty...

Fun night, put a big ass grin on my face

Hehe, I wanted to tell him nice race, but he drove away before I had a chance... Ah well, maybe I'll see him cruising around again

Nice kill Are there many Z's where your from? Alot of the Z owners in my part of oklahoma are usually older adults that won't race......so far, i've only had a chance to race 1 fellow Z owner who drove a stock twin turbo Z32, and i felt bad after i killed it I love the Z's of all years and body styles, and decided to direct my racing at other cars for now on......like the Honduhs

There aren't many Zs around me... there is one girl at work with a stock 280zx automatic (non turbo) I slaughtered her on more than one occasion... not much fun... way too easy...

I see the random old guy in a Z31 300zx cruisin around, but usually just pull up next to em and look at their car, they don't ever wanna race...

I raced a 300zxtt, and he slaughtered me...

I usually just like to lay the smack on the random ricer... since most modded cars kill my beat up Z It does have some balls left in it tho
