JRSC sound

I'm trying to deside which forced induction method to use on my '00 Si. I'm leaning tword the JRSC kit due to the lower maintance factor. But I've yet to hear one. I was wondering if anyone could describe its sound and how loud it is. If you can hear it at all. This will be with an intake of course. Any help will be great guys.

it's a nice whinning noise. sounds kinda like the noise of a pully amplified 10 times. don't get me wrong though because many people love that noise, i just happen to love the PSSHHHH sound of my bov.

if your car is a manual. go in reverse at a decent speed and it's similar to that. it's a little softer and smoother sounding, but it gives a general idea. i think it sounds pretty cool. it's hard to hide when you're racing someone side to side. you can easily hear the whine over the exhaust at WOT. but at idle, there's no whine at all. the engine sounds like the fan's blowing all the time though. if you have the chance, get to listen to the m62 blower jackson racing uses for the prelude. it's night and day compared to the smaller m45 blower. it's much more pronounced in the lude.

Thanks guys. That sounds like it would be pretty cool. I miss the BOV on my eclipse, but a nice wine might be nice too. If the s/c is louder than my apexi N1 that damn things pretty loud! What about when I hit VTEC? Will I still hear the intake resonate?

The sound from the JRSC is phat. If you were sitting in a car and some one with an aftermarket exhaust and JRSC passes you it sounds like a bike flying up behind you zzzzzzZZZZZZZZ. Once it passes you, you mainly here normal exaust noise. If that car had stock exhaust all you here is zzzzzzZZZZZZ to me it kinda sounds like a Firrari or something of that nature. With stock exhaust the exaust sonds like a wind tunnel all you here is air beng forced out of the exhaust like ffffffffffffff. In my honest opinin i like the way my car sounds better with stock exhuast and th charger than aftermarket.

the stock exhaust is like one big bottleneck for a supercharged car. you're forcing so much air into the engine, you need to let that added air escape just as easily so you can get your money's worth from the jrsc. i've also wondered how my car sounds like with stock exhaust, or at least a quiet exhaust. but i'd rather listen to the loud exhaust and be fast than being concerned about the sound of the blower. sometimes i wish it didn't whine. coz when you're racing someone side by side, you can't hide what you got under the hood once you get on the gas. i'm goin for a sleeper 'look' but the whine of the blower doesn't complement what i'm goin for very well. but all in all, i love the sound of the jrsc, particularly the m62 blower jackson racing uses for the preludes. compared to the one they use for the civics and tegs ( think it's the m45 blower), the whine is MUCH more pronounced and louder.

the exhaust is easily louder than the whine, particularly when you're listening from the rear. inside the car, the whine isn't gonna be drowned out by the exhaust (even the loudass n1) and you'll be able to hear it from inside, provided you don't have the stereo blastin. like i said, listen to the car coming head on or from the side and you'll hear the whine

The best way I can describe mine is... Whenever you first here the whine of a commerical jet engine spinning up. Buuutttt a whole lot faster tho... hehehe

However, I have heard there is a difference in sound from the M45 (D16), as compared to the M60 (I think) used on B16's ect...

Has something to do with how the gears were cut...

Here again, thats just what I have seen/read.... I never have been around a sc'ed B16 tho...

the m62 blower is used for the h22, and i'll tell you now, the whine is much more pronounced than in the m45 blower.
