what to do to my 91 crx si

Hi all i just bought a 91 civic crx si yesterday for a good deal. I have a little over five grand still i was wondering what should i do buy a b16 or b18 engin or new paint job body kit and all the little things like header exaust and intake. I can get a b16 for 3 grand and my friend will put it in for 200. So i still will have about 2 grand I could prob get a body kit and intake with my engin cant I?

I'd do the engine and kit and other mods. Then you'll have a nice engine and a good looking car. if your friend knows what hes doing...you cant beat cheap labor just look around for a deal on a engine.
Oh... welcome to the 88-91 civic board

do the engine if a friend can install it for $200! why $3000 for engine? you probably could find places to do it for that much installed. maybe someone here can suggest a cheaper place to find all the parts?

i would say intake, header, and exhaust. then i say lowering springs (or coilovers if it snows where your at) and struts. from there my wish list would probably have rims and then kit + paint

You could do a d16y8 swap instead, and with the money left over you could make a badass turbo setup.

Check out www.nippon-motors.com before you pay 3 grand for an engine.

If it was my car, it would get an LS motor with turbo... yummy.

here is the best responce you could possibly get....

DRIVE IT!

no seriously, drive it and see where you want more. then fix it.

drive it more, see what else you would like to improve upon, and fix that.

the longer you leave that cash in your bank, the more you will have to spend later...

buy some good tires... that would be my first thing i would spend money on.

the car is very nimble when you push it with sticky rubber, and its such a nice feeling.

the next thing you will notice [no doubt] is the lack of acceleration, compared to faster cars, and yes engine is a good idea,
but do you want a fast N/A car or a stupid fast boost car...

and STAY AWAY FROM NITROUS! its evil, and will kill your motor, its only a small open deck honda motor, dont push it.
