Lowering springs with stock struts
I am prob gonna get 18's on my 96 maxima, first of all, would the car look aight if i didnt lower the car. Secondly, if i do lower it, i would buy sprint springs, but leave the stock struts. Would this be bad for the car?

Rebound
You may have a problem with the rebound of the shock (I am thinking that sprint springs are a 2" drop). You could do it, but I wouldn't recomend it.
I just lowered my car only 1.5 in the front and 1.3 in the rear. Everyone I talked to said that you could keep the stock springs, but they recomend buying new aftermarket (Eibach, KYB) that would support the new load better. You have a 96, so why not go the extra mile and upgrade those stock struts (which will wear out faster)? It should be about time, depending on how you drive, were you drive, and how many miles on them. Hope this helps!

I have a 96 and put 18's on it and sitting stock the wheels will look small on the car. I then put sprints on it and it looks great but I went ahead and replaced all the suspensions stuff and put agx's in. the ride is a little stiff but no one has ever mentioned it being uncomfortable. do struts to especially if going with sprints.
