Ferrari 360 Modena Spider

Ahh just started another project. Gotta love working on 2 Ferraris at once. Just painted the car. I must say that I hate not having a proper place for spraying, too much crap lands onto the body. Ill polish it off later.

Just an enamel from a spray can.

Yeah the top part really makes me mad, such a simple thing to notice and yet they released a kit this way.

Not it actually isn't. I rubed the body with compound, and for some reason always on the edges I get the least amount of paint, so it sort of rubbed through to the primer. The only way my tamiya compound works is if I use clear coat right after, otherwise the whole car looks like crap - dull and scratched up. Maybe my compound is too old? I've had it for 3 years

Hmm if ur planning on using compound on paint before clearcoating i suggest rubbing close to but not on edges and lines of the body... usually the paint on lines and edges are the thinnest .. and try doing a wet sand with a high grit sand paper maybe around 2000 to 2500 apply light pressure then go over with a finishing compound to give it a mild shine... let the body dry for maybe 4 to 7 days then wash with water. Then you can start with the clearcoat... This should improve your final shine alot

Re: Ferrari 360 Modena Spider

Thanks. I will try that on my Enzo paintjob. Pretty much the idea would be to get rid of orange peel on paint, then work with clearcoat, thats where most of the shine comes from, correct?

Its part of it... most of the shine comes from actually how u spray the paint.. which sadly cant be explained

Re: Ferrari 360 Modena Spider

Here is a little update. Yellow paint is a real pain to work with. Also pictures hide a lot of imperfections. I think I am getting a hang of proper paint jobs, we will see how my enzo will turn out.
