pissed off beyond all recognition

saturday night i left my house to pick up my lil bro from a sweet sixteen party and as im about to open my car i see that my rear windsheild and my rear left window have been shattered in by probably a pipe or bat. I WAS PISSED!!!

my parents got up to wait for the cops to do a report as 10 cars had there windows smashed. MINE was in the WORST condition out off all of them. when i got home my parents said that the cops told them that this had happened on other streets also for a total of 30 CARS!!

but it doesnt end there next morning we see that the also got my dad's side view. BRAND NEW 2006 frontier, NOT EVEN A MONTH OLD. he waited for like 3 hours to get a police report since everyone in the area found out when they woke up and when the cop did the report he told them the the GRAND TOTAL WAS 60 CaRS now .my dad tried taking it to the dealer under the warantee but they thell him that the warantee doesnt cover this and estimated $500 just for the side view.

Now im stuck with my moms avalon until my friend's dad can fix my car and hopefully with a good price

now if you read through this rant i want to ask should i tell my insurance about this cuz we have a $1000 deductable and i doubt that he'll even charge me that much. plus even if it was vandalized would my insurace rate go up cuz ive only been licensed for 2.5 years.

Re: pissed off beyond all recognition

its times like this when the damage would be worth it just to catch and kill the people responsible. tell us if you hear anything about them getting cought. i have no idea about the insurance, just run the numbers and see what will be cheaper in the long run i guess.

Re: pissed off beyond all recognition

ive searched all over the internet and there was only one small article on it with a cop quoteing the total to the high teens but when we had a cop come over to do a report on my dads car he told my parents it was at 60 cars at the moment.

i didnt even see it on any local news either. some asshat IMs 16 yr olds and its all over tv for days, but this act of terror and intimidation doent even get 5 mins. probably dont want to give all the info since they cant catch the bastards

Re: pissed off beyond all recognition

true, some policy's have a zero dollar glass deductible, but the side view will definately be out of pocket. dont make a claim if its 1200, cause paying the 200 is easier in the long run, but i doubt it will b that much, probably about 4-500....

I doubt your insurance premiums would change because of vandalism.

Insurance isn't supposed to go up from stuff that was not at all your fault. Especially if you weren't even in the car when it happened. But still with a $1000 deductible you're probably gonna end up paying out of pocket anyway.
