Some track racing...

went to the track tonight and ran a best of 9.16 w/ a 2.15 60'(all we have here is 1/8th mile track)... I installed a set of ZZP motor mounts while in the pits(literally minutes before they started staging cars), helped my traction off the line a lot...

had fun here is the video:

http://home.comcast.net/~adammc2003/...ctober_5th.mpg

races against a '04 GT mustang and another of my best run of the night(against a full blow drag car, oh well)

and here is a timeslip:

Damn, that '04 Mustang put the hurt on you. Was it running drag radials or something? His 60' is insane.

the '04 mustang got BEAT(by a car), it was the FOX body which was a DRAG CAR(trailiered in) that beat me...

that was to be expected when I was staged beside it, I just ran my fastest time of the night against him...

Re: Some track racing...

Nice buddy. Track racing is the best! lol. Its ashame your track doesn't give ya mph.

And that's actually pretty slow as far as race cars go guys (1.74 60', and 7.98 1/8th mile). If that car was indeed a pure race car. Now if it's somebody just not taking a chance on gettin stranded (if something broke at the track) and trailered it, then yeah, that's a very fast street car.

Re: Some track racing...

its pretty much just a crappy not streetable car... I wouldn't call it a drag car because he isn't that fast(he was getting owned by a LS1 with a cam that was ON STREET TIRES all night long, as was a few of the other "built" 5.0s)... But then again, it was trailered in, had no interior, slicks, etc....

actually my personal best is a 9.15 a 1/100th faster than I got last night, but pretty much yeah and also when I ran that 9.15 I had a NEW set of tires on, now they have more wear on them and yet with the new mounts, i'm still getting off the line as well as I was then... And I have two 16" wheels(my car has 17") off of a Buick Regal I'm about to mount some drag radials on just for the track...

oh yeah and our track used to show the mph up to 3 weeks ago, but it was WAY off, up to 10mph off... I ran a 9.15 at 87mph according to my time slip from my personal best, now the e.t.s are correct and actually when people go to neighboring tracks they usually LOWER their e.t.s, but my car is alright quick but there is NO WAY IN HELL its trapping 87mph in the 1/8th that is when I KNEW the numbers were screwed up, hell I'd be lucky to get 100 through the 1/4....

Re: Some track racing...

Heard that.

No, you wouldn't be doing 87 in an 1/8th, lol. Not at 9.15. 87 mph in an 1/8th would be more like what that Mustang ran on ya.

I run 101 mph and I run 6.70s so there's you a somewhat of an example.

Re: Some track racing...

I'm confused, you say your best time was 9.16... and you say you beat the '04 Mustang which ran 7.988?

I can't view the video, keeps giving me errors.

Which car ran the 7.988? Was it a Foxbody Mustang or a 04 Mustang?

Re: Some track racing...

the video has two passes...

the first is against a 99-04 mustang gt, which he got a 9.34 and beat the GT which had a 9.66

the second was against a foxbody notchback stang, which is a companied with the time slip

vid is also quicktime format, just clicked it and a player came up after a lil loading time, didnt have to right click save as.

Re: Some track racing...

I see, I can see that it's quicktime.

My computer doesn't seem to want to acknowledge that I have all the correct drivers to play Quicktime.

Whatever...
