Attn: NZer's/anyone very knowledgable of the JDM market

The B13 Sunny is the Sentra we had in the early 90's, like mine. However, I've only ever seen 4-door Sunny's on the web...did the 2 door's go by a different name, or were they not even offered in Japan?

The Sunny was also badged as the Pulsar and Sentra NZ, Australia, and Japan.

It depended on what year it was, the trim level offered, and what name the marketing guys thought would sell the most.

And yes, 3, 4 and 5 door version of all 3 were made and sold.

However going of the imports Iv seen on the road, most of the 3 door hatchs were were badged as Pulsars, while the larger 4 and 5 door models were badges as Sunnys and Sentras. (but Iv seen all 3 names on all 3 models.)

But I have never seen a model that looked like yours though.
Howeve I have seen a sort of 2 door coupe looking thing with a Sunny badge on it that might be a restyled prettyied up version of your car.

Well the frount bumber will fit easy, and so should a back bumber if there is one. However the side skirts will be a little to long, and you will have to cut a section out of the middle. Not a hard job if you know what your doing, but an added cost to think about.

But why?
Unless you have a GTiR, SSS or the silly US SE-R then thier not exactly a great performance car.

To set it apart from the others without being hideous. It'll be a decent performance car when the SR20DET goes in

Actually I think the side skirts will fit, my friend has an identical car except 4 door, and the rocker panels are identical on both, same length. I just have 2 longer doors instead of 4 shorter doors.

Yeah, the Lucino was later and badged as the 200SX here in the later 90's. Videonasty has one.

LOL!

sorry.

Oh, and the Blue Bird for some years in Japan was also a rebadged Sentra, Lucino what ever, but for others just used the Sentra Platform, but with a larger uglier body on top.

Hi Heep

I'm assuming the SR20DET is the turbocharged variant of the Nissan TwinCam aka 200SX/Silvia?

I think they also stuck the NX-R body on the Nissan Sunny/Pulsar/Sentra/Lucino platform too (that's the little three door with headlights that look like buckets - real aero!)

By the way, the current S14 200SX in New Zealand (which is about to be axed to make way for 350Z) is 184kW standard as a manual - it's the Type S spec Japanese market car - which is a bit more the Australian spec version which is configured to run on 91 octane gas.

The auto versions have less power but supposed more even torque...

It's a great little engine as most GTI-R and Silvia owners will attest. It's a pity about the 200SX though - there's going to be a $15,000 or 33% step in price from 200SX to the likely cost of a 350Z which is a real pity.

I had a look at an S14 including a weekend drive package a while back but I need a four door these days...

Yeah, the DET is the turbo variant of the SR20 engine that in plenty of hotter Nissan cars.

We had the NX as well, both in NX 1600 form with the GA16DE and NX 2000 with the SR20DE.

As far as the SX cars, we had what was called the 200SX in the 80's, it was a S11 Silvia. A year or 2 after the S12 was introduced in Japan, it was brought out here as the new 200SX. Once the S13 came out, we only got the 180SX (with the popup headlights), badged as a 240SX. Mid-90's, the new 240SX came out (it was an S14 Silvia) and the 180SX (I believe that's what your 200SX is, isn't it?) was dropped. The mid 90's also saw the return of a 200SX badged car in North America, which was the late 90's Lucino. The S15 was never brought here, and the 240SX name died, as did the 200SX once the B15 Sentra arrived.

Ooopss did I say current S14... I meant S15 is the current model here.

All of the 1995 on cars are 200SX because they were 2.0 litres only the 1.8litre variant which appears here as a second hand Japanese import is a 180SX. And the Lucino which we also see here looks a lot different!

the mexican front looks pretty damn nice on the Classic SE-R/B13 chassis(as us SR20 junkies refer to them)

I thought the Bluebird was the USDM Altima?
