Need to know how to pull the axle assembly
I have a 1991 Honda Prelude SI, the axle assembly was damaged in an accident and I need to pull the inner shaft from the Transmition, Is there a tool or a trick of the trade to get this out?
Ive got all the axle out except the shaft that is in the transmission, Ive used big screw drivers, now trying a crow bar, its out about 1/4inch but does not want to come out. Im thinking I need to take out the other axle and tap it out from the other side. Last edited by SPERAON; 09-26-2006 at 11:39 AM. |

Re: Need to know how to pull the axle assembly
The axle itself just pops out of the transmission. While I'm not too familiar with preludes, to replace it you'll have to remove the axle nut from the end and probably unbolt the lower shock fork and seperate the lower balljoint.

Re: Need to know how to pull the axle assembly
yeah i agree with audio guy. i took mine out of my hatch yesterday and after i freed the ball joint just took a flathead screwdriver and put it between the axle and tranny. should just pop right out.
