17's

What size tires should I have so my speedo still reads correctly if I put 17's on my car? The closest I can find so far is 205/40R17 and it says that my speedo will say 57.9 when I'm going 60. That shouldn't be too much of a problem if that's as close as I can get, but I would like it to be as accurate as possible.

It's usually not a problem.
just keep pace with the traffic.
and if there are pigs around go a little slower than the posted speed limit.

Peep this.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Assuming your stock tire size is 175/70/R13, you would want to go with 205/35/17's and your spedometer would be spot on.

Personally I wouldnt want my profiles that thin, and I dont even think they make those, so I would probably go with 195/40/R17's and have my speedo be 2.2% too slow so if the speedo said 60 I would really be going 61.3mph

Thanks Melt. I don't really want that low pro tires either, but the rims I want only come in 17" or 18", so I guess I'll just have to go with a speedo thats not quite right.

If you go with a 17"x7" rim your recomended tire size would be a 205/40/17 if you go with a 18"x7" you will need to use a 205/35/18.

just thought i'd let you know.

they make absolutly everything these days!

here's an example.
Say you want a set of rims....but the rims dont come in the propor bolt pattern for your car.....let me know I can have them custom made straight from the factory to fit your car
