I've seen several ideas (all different) on reproramming the remote(s) for the 1995 chevy tahoe. Anyone here know how and have done it successfully? TIA

To reprogram rke remotes, first you need all remotes that will be used on the vehicle (make sure they work) and a short piece of insulated wire with both ends stripped off about 3/4 inch. Find the diagnostic port located under the dash to the left of the steering column. On the top row of the port, from left to right, insert one end of the wire into the 4th hole and the other end into the 8th. Do not remove the wire until you are finished programming. The locks on the vehicle should lock/unlock. You are now in programming mode. Hold down both the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the locks cycle. This remote is now programmed. Repeat for each additional remote (most vehicles will accept up to 4 different remotes). When finished, remove the jumper wire and you are through.
Hope this helps. Wes |
