Question 89 prelude si 2.0 HP?

i'm thinking about rebuilding the engine on my 89 prelude, but i need to know what the hp on it is, i raced eagle talon 95 which has 140hp and i was equal with it so the hp should be about same as the talon. well i before i rebuild my engine i wanted to know the horsepower on it and if it's not more then 140 then ill just buy a more powerful engine, well if anybody has any idea about the hp on the prelude si 2.0 (manual trans) please help me out here.
i have one more question, can you fit integra typeR or integra GS-R engine into honda prelude 89?

stock hp with all stock intake/exhaust, etc... 135.

if you put any sort of intake/exh on it, you should get a bit more than that... if you are going to pull the motor apart, i recommend milling the head to up the compression...

i have done that, as well as have the head and intake manifold polished and port matched with a custom exh, dc header, my own intake and a completely rebuilt motor (new seals, rings, everything is pretty much new that could possibly get worn)...

i'm not sure what it puts down for power, but the power difference from stock is substantial... let me know if you have any questions, as i have had the motor in and out a few times, and am really familiar with the car... you may also want to talk to tom at www.ludespeed.com, as he deals alot with the 3gen lude... alot... he has tons of knowledge...
hit me up if you need anything...

I can relate to your need for more horsepower in your lude, but really the integra engines supposedly do not have enough torque to be worthwhile to swap in a prelude. Ive looked into swapping in a newer prelude engine which quite a few people have done, however that is crazy expensive(engine, ecu ,tranny = 2400 + 900-for mounts and axles + installation = mad money ) I agree with flylwsi if you want to go all engine, but if you can afford it and dont mind a little bit of turbo buy the Ludespeed turbo kit.

trust me, the ludespeed kit is in the future for me...

i have thought about the 1.8 swap, and the only reason i shot it down was because no one has done it...

but if you look at those motors, they make 145+ tq, which is higher than the 140 of the b20... but most people don't want to downsize the motor...

the h22 or h23 swaps would cost about 6k... including motor ecu trans and all the custom bits (mounts, axles, etc)...

turbo it, but make sure you have fresh rings on the pistons, as they tend to wear out quickly due to the design of the motor...

they have a very inefficient bore/stroke ratio which causes high (more than normal) piston speeds, which leads to worn rings. i've had 4 motors in my car, and trust me, the first three had worn rings... the new one is completely rebuilt and has no problems with oil usage at all...
