1996 Crown Victoria LX... Heater Hose Question...

96 CV LX... I have what seems to be a heater hose leaking directly behind the water pump... it has a reg. clamp at the end going to the water pump and what looks like a HI pressure type fitting going under the intake??? Definately the hose... I can see where it looks puffy... is this a heater hose and is it easy to replace???

Thnx In advance to all that reply,

MYX

Re: 1996 Crown Victoria LX... Heater Hose Question...

You are correct. That hose is not fun to repair. We have cut the crimp and spliced a regular heater hose in its place before. Not really recommended, but it will work. The hose can be snaked out from the rear without removing the intake, but it is really close quarters. Ford manual states to remove the intake to access the hose.
