Re: difficulty taking off fan clutch

If this is for your 2000 Safari, the water pump hub has a M30 X 1.5 RH thread. Turn the fan nut counter-clockwise to remove it, just like you would with 99-44/100% of other fasteners you would encounter. You may need to use a strap wrnech to retain the water pump sheave and a mallet and a large wrench on the nut to break it free. With your fourth hand, you can take a picture.

Like maxwedge says we need info.
Tips on getting a good answer to your questions.
People trying to answer your question do not have a crystal ball.
So give them all of the info you have like year make and model and engine and transmission.
Also service cars engine and transmission service history or any recent repairs or problems.
Also a description of your problem and what it is doing or not doing.
If you have codes give up the code no.
And remember a code does not say replace the part but only points to the problem that you have to check out.
So to better help you give up all of the info you have on it.

Re: difficulty taking off fan clutch

Advance Auto and Autozone both loan the tool kit to hold the hub. It also has the wrench that fits the water pump retainer. Like any job, if you have the right tools, the job's a snap. (Right hand threads, righty tighty lefty loosy.)
