Changing rear leaf on 96 Regal
Hi, I'm trying to change the rear leaf spring on my 1996 Regal, and i'm having some trouble. I've managed to get the old one out, as it was pretty much destroyed, but I'm having difficulty gettin the new one in. Once I get one side in, it seems almost impossible to flew the leaf enough to get the opposite end in. Is there a special tool I need to do this or something?
Thanks in advance for your help, Richard. |

Re: Changing rear leaf on 96 Regal
I'm assuming you are referring to the transverse spring. You will need a rear spring compressor J35778 or equivalent. You can rent the special tool from national auto parts stores like Autozone or Advanced if in the US. See tech procedure below.
