Propane conversion for gasoline engine

I've been looking into a propane conversion for my truck. Mileage and power are very close to gas but the emissions and cost per gallon are much lower. I've considered both alcohol and propane, and for now propane seems to be a much better choice for me.

I found several kits on the internet, all of which are $800-$1,500. They all seem fairly simple, and I just don't see how the parts could cost that much.

Does anyone know what I need to buy to do what the kits do? Or do the pieces really cost that much? Thanks for any info.

Re: Propane conversion for gasoline engine

sorry it took so long, I didn't see post.

The parts really do cost that much and is highly dependant upon the tank size. A complete kit is recommended if they make a specific one for your application. Usually an LP conversion will never pay for itself.

Re: Propane conversion for gasoline engine

Hi Bart,

With regards to your truck and how to cheaply turn it's engine to use gas.

Well how about if it was possible to use water?

No joke.

With some cheap material, you can do it yourself in no time.

If you don't believe me, just visit the site and check it out.
