Anyone ever build a Revell Model A wagon?

I have Revell's 1931 Ford Model A station wagon (reissue), which actually belongs to a friend; I am building it for him, as he is not a modeler. It seems that the side panels absolutely do not fit with the firewall; I think I may have to add a bit of material to the upper horizontal beams to make them connect with the windshield frame so that the front doors will fit. Is this right, or have I somehow messed up somewhere?? When I finish, I will hopefully be able to post some pictures in the gallery. It looks really nice (except for the poor-fitting panels), and I have fully detailed it, after thoroughly measuring and documenting every part on a real Model A that was in my Dad's auto repair shop for a time. Tell me if messed up the side panels, or is it just a classic Revell boo-boo?
Alex

P.S. My little quote at the bottom of my posts was actually inspired by this model, after a demon-possessed can of Testors primer totally ruined my hood and firewall parts. I had to strip them with oven cleaner, which, although not very difficult, was a pain in the butt and set me back about a week. I use PlastiKote auto body primer now; it's much better. Sorry Testors primer fans (if there are any). I do use all Testors paint otherwise.

It's just an old kit that requires lots of patience. It is easier to build without making all the moving parts work... - Mark
