Blueprints
Hello!
Well sorry, if I'm in VERY wrong section, but I couldn't post it anywhere else :P Well, the point is, I thought it would be cool to build a Custom Hot Rod from scratch. And I wanted to know if anyone can post me here some blueprints, measurements, suggestions and something like that. Especially I'd like to have some measurements/dimensions. I'd appreciate that. Oh forgot to mention that measurements should be in scale 1:24. Thanks, Smurf |

Re: Blueprints
when you build something from scratch you tend to design the entire thing yourself, unless you're making a replica of something.
i'm currently building a wrecker truck, 95% from scratch, the rest modified origninal parts and i've done all the design work myself. for my next projects (garbage truck, tracked excavator, wheel loader, combine harvester) i'm making as replicas of real ones, and i'm using the moanufacturers blueprints to work from.

Re: Blueprints
I'd suggest hitting up a few car shows, and bring your tape measure, slide rule, and calipers. I'm sure that if you talk to the owners of the cars, they'd be more than happy to lend you a hand, specially if you say you are going to build a replica of their car....weather you are or not.

I ain't saying that Custom rod is easier, it's still hard, no doubt. its all rounded and stuff, but still. I'd like to see that kind of beauty in my collection. If rod executes well, maybe I'd start a truck project too, but i doubt it. but we'll see. thanks anyway ^^ |

So embrace yourself, it is a long arduous journey through fire. There will be good times and bad times. Also, you may want to look at my article in this months Model Cars Mag about scratch building for some tips. Good luck!
