Electric Superchargers

Greetings,

I stumbled upon some 'electric superchargers' on Ebay and after reading about them it seems like it would work.

Its a CAI with a turbine on it, the model I looked at stipulated 2-3lbs of boost, and also said that it would increase HP by 15-45.

Does it work? and more importantly is it safe with a stock engine?

Re: Electric Superchargers

It seems there is quite a market for these parts and even some teams use them, how can it be useless junk? There must be a benefit over CAI, and a benefit to those who cannot afford a supercharger.

Anyone else have advice?

I'm assuming you have a SE or GT.

Yes I do have an opinion. Get one and let us know if it works.

BTW - However, nothing beats the real thing.

Re: Electric Superchargers

I hate to see people waste money, so I looked at the ad on e-bay. At best it may create a ram-air like effect if the fan is capable of pumping more air than the engine can ingest (doubtful). If you read the ad, it also bypasses the IAT sensor which affects air/fuel ratio calculations which is most likely where the supposed gains (mostly at WOT as the ad mentions) come from. Just my

I'd save up money until you could, and do it right the first time. I just can't see a glorified hair dryer making any power..

Re: Electric Superchargers

It causes air turbulance,
which is one of the reasons I put on a CAI.
To rid myself of these usless stock air intake systems.

Re: Electric Superchargers

A turbo creates turbulence... But at 20psi, who gives a rats a$$...
