My Car Died

How my rice killer died...

As you all may remember, i drove a '94 Bonneville SSEI, with
which i never lost to any rice rocket ever in the 3 years i owned
her.

The Bonneville's death was quite sad, however it was one hell
of a way to go.

A good friend of mine bought himself one of those old Porsches
from the 80's (i think) when they were shaped like the
Nissan 300 ZX. The one he bought had some aftermarket stuff
done to it, so i guess it could still really move. I told him well
lets see how it does.

So we lined the cars up that Wednesday night, shortly after a quick
rainfall, and went for it. He took me for about 100 feet off the line,
until my top end started to work for me, and i caught up to him on the curves. His RWD couldn't corner as well as my traction control FWD.
So we're screamin along, sometimes he lead by a few feet, sometimes i led by a few feet. We'd been doing this for a few minutes when a
rabbit ran across the road infront of us. Neither of us stopped for it, or
swerved for that matter, but he did clip it with his front spoiler.

that slowed hit, as the car slid a bit from the impact, and so i was leading. but in the slide, he clipped my rear end, in a pit manouver if you see the cops do that on TV. The problem was, he did it at close to
120mph on a wet road.

So in a nutshell, here's what happened from there:

1. I spun around in circles, at one point i hit him and he flew into the ditch and rolled onto the passenger side unharmed.

2. I slide further down the road, and pulled out of the spin, but continued to fishtail badly due to the speed and the water.

(by the way, i didn't roll over because of the wet roads, i just kinda slid along like i was on ice...gotta love Canadian water!)

3. My spins eventually took me into the ditch myself, about 200 feet from where he eneded up, but when i went into the ditch, my rear axle ran smack into a big tree and consequently the car was wrapped around it. I struck on the passenger side, and was able to walk out of the car on my own with nothing more than slight whiplash and a dizzy spell from spinning. Cam, my buddy in the Porsche, was just fine.

In the end, his car got fixed, mine didn't. Way to much damage from
being wrapped around the tree.

That's the story of how the Bonneville died. I never lost to a rice rocket in it, and i never lost to anything European in it, since i technically beat
the Porsche.

Coming up, i'll have info on the new rides i've got to drive, and stories about what happens with them.

Peace. :sun:

sounds like a 944 n/a

im really sorry about what happened
just be glad that you both made it out alive
thats whats most important

but im really having trouble believing that your car was a better handler the 944 was fairly light weight and had perfect 50/50 weight distribution and has road holding up to 0.93g

i know that has to be better than a 4 door fwd sports sedan
and the 944 is widely regarded as being one of the best handling series of porches to ever leave stuttgart :licker:

Sad to hear it, Student anonymous. When a car ends up on the flatbed to the River Styx, it's a sad day indeed. But any car that bites it in a race at least goes down fighting. Unlike my friend and teammate, his Geo Storm (which we modded ourselves to make it into the perfect FF drifter by our own welding, torching, and stripping skills) bought it in traffic at rush hour. Some idiot in an Excursion cut him off and stood on the brakes, which meant he had no time to react. The Excursion was unhurt beyond a scuffed rear bumper, the Storm was totalled. And because of Ohio laws which state that in any rear end collision, the person who hits from the car in front is at fault. So my friend lost his license for a few months.

But he's got the last laugh now. With the money he's saved, he bought a 1989 240SX Fastback, and he has already ordered a red-top SR20DET.

True, but still it was technically the rabbits fault

So i say blame the rabbit, why? because it's probably dead and can't defend it's self
