Alrighty you guys have helped me fix everything from windows to sensors. But this new problem has my mechanic stumped. I have a 99 gp gt 3800 and you can be driving and happen to look down at speed and gauges and the rpms are sitting and not moving (as if the car is turned off) and the Trac Off light is lit, the car makes no noise and gives no warning and if you turn it off and restart it, it fixes it? I am wondering if this can be causing any problems or should I not worry about it??? Also I recently replaced my factory radio with an aftermarket and when I did and put everything together, my air conditioning reads in celcius now inside and out temps, the dealer says it would be up to $300 is there any fixes for home????

Re: more 99 Grand prix problems
I believe there is a switch in the climate conrol head that switches it from Celcius to Farenheit that you may have bumped when installing the radio.
On the guages, did it do this prior to the radio install, and does the car stall when the guages go flat or is it still running?

Re: more 99 Grand prix problems
Yep, I remember now, but i thought it was a switch, not a wire. I guess that's what I get for thinking,

Re: more 99 Grand prix problems
We both had the basics of the fix, just not the exact specifics. You were closer, so you win. The first round is on me if I come to El Paso, or you come to Flint. It would be interesting to find out the cause, as it is a little bizarre. I've had my radio out to fix the display backlight bulb, and had no issue. It must have something to do with wiring aftermarket stereos.
