Hi everyone I am new here to this forum board, have some questions on tamyia clear acrylic.
can this be used over testors enamel paints? Dose it yellow with age? can it be polished with with a Lmg polishing kit or simular? I seen this clear with the acrylic paints.......is this actually a real acrylic? Buzz |

No lacquer on enamel, meaning no Tamiya Spray on Testor enamel. Actually, lacquer based paint shouldn't be used on enamel or water base acrylic, but if the first few coats are sprayed lightly, it might work.
It slightly yellows, but not much if the model is kept indoor and away from the sunlight. It can be polished with the polishing kit. Not sure what you mean by "real" acrylic, but Tamiya Spray (and Gunze Mr. Color bottle and spray) is synthetic lacquer solvent based acrylic paint. |

Oh, one more thing.
If you are talking about Tamiya's water based paint, then it can be used on enamel. |

What I can say is that I use Tamiya's clear in my model for about 12 years with great results.
No yellowish in the paint (even TS-26 body's) our in the decals. My models are not exposed to direct sun light, anyway. |
