Thumbs down Civic topped out at 115 mph

I was driving the other day on I-95 and there were some cars that passed me going quick. So, once they got a good distance ahead I punched it and got up to 115. From 110-115 it took a while!!!! ....but, with the pedal to the floor the car rolled steady at 115mph for about a minute before I let up.

I thought there was a rev imiter that is suppose to kick in at 118 (1998 Civic LX) or something like that. I didn't hit the limiter, just the top speed.

Can't wait until the B18C1 goes in.

get a mugen ecu and it will top out at higher speeds because usdm ecu's are govern limited to top out at lower speeds this is the speed limiter which limits the top speed with the new ecu you'll top out at higher speeds past the redline.

Did you spin out, pound the steering wheel, and scream obscenities?

When's the C1 going in? That will be one sweet car!

topped a TL at 145, dont think US have a limiter cuz if the civic has a limit at 115 why would the TL have it at 145 i think it depends on how fast the car can go

I'm going to keep the LX and just drop the B18 in next year most likely. I've got to have reliable transportation for the new job and I'm going to get a B18 with really low miles.....

and you can also try if you have a manual... leave it in 4th... my 94 ex coupe will hit only 118mph if i am in 5th cause of the limiter... but i can pull 130mph if i leave in 4th and redline it.

just FYI

And what will this prove? That you are more of an idiot with a B18C1? What's the purpose of driving on public roads with other people going that speed? Do you have any common sense at all?

Yes I have gone 145mph (top speed of my Civic Si) on a legal RACETRACK. Try it sometime.

My purpose was just to see what it would top out at (THAT'S ALL)!
I don't have any common sense, why do you think I was doing 115 in a 70

I was saying that my LX is slow and can't wit to get the B18 so I can beat all the little rice burners around town

145 -- Don't know if I'll ever have the chance to try that...

How is an LX with a b18 anymore reliable than a hatch with a b18?

Well, I have NO idea what that h/b has been through where the LX has been with my family since birth.

Also, by next year (probably towards the end) I will have racked upa good bit of miles on the LX.....

Also, I would like to have the car done myself than pick up someone elses car that is already done & raced to hell..... Not that it's a bad thing. Oh, and I want people to say, there's that sedan you don't want to f**k with :alien:
