Angry Down With Fujimi!

Today, I bought the fujimi garage and tools set, and those ****ers at fujimi
wrote in plain sight "GARAGE AND TOOLS" yet somehow they got away with only giving me the garage, no ****ing tools. They even had the balls to put pics of tools on the side of the ****ing box. I'm sure in japanese they wrote "tools not included" and right next to it, "those dumb*** americans don't know there's no tools" Well guess what fujimi, F**K YOU!

Re: Down With Fujimi!

I guess you need to see the Tools box to understand what they were trying to acheive.

Take it back where you bought it?

Re: Down With Fujimi!

The stupid hobbytown usa didn't carry the tools box, so i had no hint.
I'd bring it back, but i want it. and i just figured out it costs $25 for the tools set. Fujimi is a bunch of scam artists preying on the modeler. isn't it illegal to put garage and tools on there, but only have the garage? I should sue...

Re: Down With Fujimi!

LOL, that would get you far.

To be honest, I have owned both sets and bought them seperately, I never thought that either or the other contained both items

Re: Down With Fujimi!

I have the tools one, notice on the box that garage is in bold letters and tools is outline only, on the tools box they are the other way around. Maybe that might help.

Re: Down With Fujimi!

you never figured what the transparent pictures/text meant?

i'm sorry, but it seems obvious to me that the tools aren't included, hence them not being totally visible in the box art.

Seems pretty straight forward to me what the box contains - and I am sure if you read Japanese it would tell you clearly on the box what it does and does not contain

Re: Down With Fujimi!

It's really quite confusing, and I can totally understand why you're pissed.

Fujimi used "Garage & Tools" as the name for the whole line of garage/tools sets, which includes boxed items such as the garage only, the tools only, and the garage and tools in the same box. There's also a "antique garage" (no tools.)

The "Garage & Tools" name also appears on the driver figure set, driver figure and accessories set and the "Misc. Accessories Parts" set, all of which includes neither a garage nor any tools.

You can see the box art, including the tools + no garage, here:

Re: Down With Fujimi!

Yep, 100% sure it's no kind of scam. Fujimi stuff wasn't meant to be sold to English speakers anyhow.

Re: Down With Fujimi!

there is a set with both Garage and Tools include.
the point of only buying the garage is that you can extend to a double garage, but only need one set of tools.

Re: Down With Fujimi!

@ mikemechanic - ROFL

@ Digitalbanzai - so why the heck did they name the set in English - to sell the kit to eskimos??

I don't suppose it is a scam in any way but I DO think it is a case of very bad and misleading packaging, albeit probably unintentional at the time.

I don't know if Fujimi are still producing this set, but if they are, they SHOULD change the packaging - particularly in the day and age of internet shopping where you won't have the box in your hands and there is a high probability that the retailer will merely give the FULL name of the product.

I don't consider myself to be an idiot and I am a pretty cautious shopper but I have seen this set for sale in many places on the web and until now I had been under the impression/assumed that it contained BOTH tools AND garage. I will admit though that I have never looked very closely as I have never considered purchasing it.

In today's world, the onus is on the seller to avoid misleading customers. This is partiularly the case with a reputable company like Fujimi. I hope they read this

So does that mean stuff like this is meant for Americans too?

What i'm saying is, Fujimi kits were originally made to be sold in Japan. There are really no 'stores' in other countries that sell Fujimi stuff other than hobby shops that buy them from wholesalers in Japan. It's like someone in Japan getting a Revell kit.
