Alero Headlight Adjuster Availability?

Members: My '02 Alero has a broken headlight adjuster (elevation) on the right side. My local GM dealership informs me that these aren't available separately from GM - one has to purchase the entire headlight assembly in order to get the plastic adjuster which bayonets onto the back of the housing. Does anyone know of a source for just the adjuster? - I haven't been able to find one on the web. Thanks.

Welcome to AF.

The dealer is correct. You'll need the whole headlamp assembly. Which side is it, left (drivers) or right? There are aftermarket headlights available at a lower cost the GM OEM.

Re: Alero Headlight Adjuster Availability?

Thanks, bnaylor, for the info - I was considering visiting a local salvage yard and seeing if I could find one, as it is only the plastic adjustment screw on the rear of the assembly that is broken - the internal adjustment parts are okay. Hate to spend $100 (ebay) to $200+ for a whole light assembly just because of a broken plastic screw on the adjuster !!!

Thats a good idea. Won't hurt and probably the cheapest route. Maybe they have a headlight assembly damaged sitting on a wrecked Alero and the part you need is good. Otherwise, they may just sell the headlight only but at a reduced cost. The headlamp is the same from 1999 - 2004. Good luck.
