Pipesize too big?

I'm thinking about getting custom piping for my exhaust. I know that the maxima stock B-pipe is 1.88 or so but is 2.5" to big for piping? Would I lose HP if I got 2.5" pipings? Or should I just get 2.25" instead. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Pipesize too big?

Nope, go for the 2.5 at least. If your thinking about any sort of forced induction, ie s/c, turbo, nitrous, then you might want to think about 3".
