Mitsubishi 3000gt vs Honda Civic

Ok I know what you are thinking Ralliart spec 3000gt with 530BHP Vs Honda civic what a joke. well sadly, no.

Anyway I'm out at the drags on a Friday night (Illegal street racing) and I take out a few tricked out Nissan Skyline GTT's one was built by Greddy and had 450hp at the fly and the other was a custom job. I'm detuned to 15.5psi pump gas so my car is making 360+hp ATW, well Going for the Greddy car first I launch him off the line and take two cars once he hooks up I keep the gap between us till 180kph where I shut off.

The next was a custom Built Skyline GTT so I don't know how much he's making. We launch at the same time we are bumper to bumper in fist gear once I hit second I pull away on him a foot or two then into 3rd and I take him up until he shuts down around 160kph.

Now interesting I noticed that my car hisitated a bit during that race in frist gear. She's searching at idle so I take her around the block and see if its effecting performance, which it doesn't seem to. Ok thats fine.

Now 2hrs have past watching people race and doing burn out etc so I decide to drive up to the race line and wait for somone to challenge me, a dark blue Honda civic sedan pulls up next to me, it has vynl that reads VTEC inside (like the intel computers) written accross its side. This car Is a turbo 1.6 VTEC making 240+hp at the front wheels. The guys pull up next to me and ask if I'm wanting to race, I say sweet lets go, they follow me down to the long Airport strait near by.

He checks down the road for cops, I have two of my freinds in the car saying somthing about not going too fast and killing them I just reply aha aha yea aha yea really aha cause I aint really listing just phsycing in on this race.

He comes back and give the all clear, he asks if we can go from a roll so I agree thinking that I'm gonna take him anyway, So we are off on a roll he floors so do I, I redline first he's at my door then second and he is at my bumper, 3rd and I take about half a car on him and I hit 4th gear going 200kph and my fucken car starts to hesitate and jerk and my RPM's are stuck at 4000, he hits VTEC or somthing cause there was this loud fucken noise like somone had a food grinder right next to my ear and his car fly's past me at about 50k's like I'm not moving and this is at about 200+kph it take a sec for my car to stop missing and my RPM's quickly regain and then shift into 5th it takes another sec to pass him we shut down, he stops and starts yelling out that my car is a Heavy 10sec POS (don't know where the fuck he got 10sec from cause my car is in the 11's) and not to mess with the honda boys, this guy is like fucken 24, My freind is pretty keen to kick his ass but his girl freind settled him down, anyway I decide to go back to the drags where he aproached me and said that I should stop telling every one lies about whats under my hood then I asked if he had NOS he said no blah blah blah but I have Garrett blah blah with extra baked beans and then I asked him if he wanted a hiding and if we should remove that smile from his face and he was like no man don't be like that then I looked at his girl and asked if she wanted a shag she smiled and I know why because that honda fag had no nut at all just like his car, so I went home feeling like shit cause I got owned by some fucken POS Honda Fart simulating machine with an added turbo for extra hot air which was owned by an even gayer ass hole.

Now that I found the problem (ignition leads) this punk don't want a race.

Got to get that fixed. Oh well, there is nothing you can do about Vtec....True Story.

Better luck with the Civ next time.

Re: Mitsubishi 3000gt vs Honda Civic

Dang, you car has 530hp????? What the heck do you have done to it? Anyways, good loss. My buddy raced a Civic in his 525whp STS Turboed Z28 and lost. The Civic was totally stripped, looked like crap (DX model), and apparently pushing around 400fwhp. Later on it met an untimely death though, as it caught fire, and the owner forgot to take the racing fuel out of it D'oh.

Civics are great all around. I mean they can be had for soo cheap, that most people just drop in an H22, big hair dryer, and a tune for less then $7K. Mind you, they're not remotely legal that way, but then, if you're racing for money, who wants a legal car anyways?

Most of the Honda-guys where I live have H22 conversions. What are the specs on those engines anyway?

Re: Mitsubishi 3000gt vs Honda Civic

They are rated for 200hp at the fly, and in a light DX civic that's stirpped, that's a pretty nice combination.

Nice race, too bad about the ignition problems though. Atleast you don't have to deal with a tranny that likes to stay in first and rev really slowly for the first 5-10 minutes of driving.

You don't by chance know how much boost a stock H22 can take, do you? I mean the guys I see racing them illegally are easily pushing past 15psi.

This is the reason why I don't want another Honda... damn loudmouth ricer flybys. I'd still love to have a dohc vtec turboed EK but it would be a total sleeper...

Sorry to hear you lost, you definately need to get that problem fixed. Hopefully this isnt your last race in the car.

Re: Mitsubishi 3000gt vs Honda Civic

I have always loved 3000gt's, the inside is just badass. That really sux that a damn honda got past you. I have never understood why someone would want to go fast in a honda anyway. Yeah an s2000 is fine, but that is the only god looking honda there is. IMO that is. There is a reason they are rated a grocery getter by insurance companies.

I always thought the 3000GT interior was the only part of the car that didn't look good. I mean, I like the gauges in the middle, but hate the stock seats and stuff.

I also love the FD's, I have always wanted one to play with. There is one guy on another forum that has a FD with about 500rwhp from an LS1 shoved into it. That is a SICK car. I like how the 3000gt's have the dashand the center console wrapping around the driver and the center guages are badass. If I didn't live in the south I would consider doing AC delete on my car and fill the vents with autometer guages in the center, but that wouldn't be wise here in LA.

What is wrong with our seats??? 6 way adjustable power leather seats. Thats forward, backward, seat up ro down in front, seat up or down in back, lower lumbar support and adjustable side bolsters. Tons of power features on the inside with every flippable switch in reach. Only thing a VR-4 owner is jealous of when it comes to interior options is KnightRider

^Exactly. That's what makes them so big and bulky and heavy. Those kinda seats belong in a luxury sedan, not a sportscar. Don't get me wrong; I'm not insulting the car. I'm a big fan of 3000GT's and almost bought a VR-4.
