first 1/4 run

so i went down to atco friday night to see what my car would run. here are my best times. are these what should be expected from my car?

rt-.892
60'-2.761
330-7.317
1/8-10.934
mph-68.13
1000-13.934
1/4-16.653
mph-84.92

that was my fastest run overall but my best time was [email protected].
i also had a rt of .554 which was on my only third time running which i thought was cool.

You should be able to hit 60 foot times of around 2.3 at the minimum. Once you hit a 2.0, then you will be a pro. Otherwise, not bad. What boost and what octane gas?

well i was only using 87 octane because i was seeing if i get better mileage with better gas. i didnt know i was going to the track when i filled up otherwise i would have waited and filled up at the track. the boost is at 11psi, the stock level. or at least thats what the factory gauge says, wont know for sure until i install my new carbon fiber boost gauge this weekend. my best 60' was 2.6 which was on my way to the 16.6 run.

that factory guage dont even read boost man,it reads air pressure coming into the engine and calculates it in the ecu.so forget what that guage says, get an aftermarket.as for your 16 second run...that was kinda a sucky run.

NEVER EVER use 87 octane in your car. If it's turbo'd it requires 93 octane or close to it. You've probably got hella knock so your motor is retarding timing which in turn reduces power. Don't hit boost on that gas, empty it out from driving then start filling up w/ 93 or closest only.

Something is really wrong...

I run a 17.1 in my stock RS on 87 octane, with my complete system in the car with the windows down. Please tell me that you read your time slip wrong. Also, to improve your reaction time a little more. STAGE SHALLOW!!!! The second that the second yellow light comes on STOP! Then on the last yellow stomp it!!! This will give you a roll on the start. Contrary to some beliefs, your ET doesnt start until both yllow lights turn off. If you sit at the line for 5 sec after the green and then it takes you 16 sec to get to the end, you still ran a 16 not a 21. But something is really wrong, again I am at 17.1 and you are at 16.6. Dude thats only 1/2 sec diff! I run 15.9 when i spray and thats a 75 shot. You should still be kicking my a$$ while I spray. Try my staging technique next time if you do not already and let me know how things go.
