i dont know anybody who got nabbed but i watched it on the news last nite..... it was like roundin up cattle. The cops formed a line of cars and steered all the racers into a road block, then got out and went to each car 1 by 1 & issued tickets.

Here's the story

Geez... I'll ask my friends if they were there. I know a few people that go to the runs around here including Oakland.

So THATS what all the importers at heald were bitching about yesterday! A couple of guys got tickets because their cars were too low, clears, etc. etc., one guy got a ticket cause of his engine swap and people were all bagging on him because the cop didnt have probable cause to search his shit and why did he pop the hood? A couple of other guys with swap's refused to pop their hoods because the cops didnt have probable cause and the cops couldnt do shit because when everybody was trying to leave hella quick, most of the heald crew (known as "VRP") just chilled and waited for the cops to talk to them cause they knew they were boxed in

Why can't the damn cops just look the other way. Generally in these street races there are some people who block off the street where it is taking place. Fuckin cops:finger4:

here in San Antonio, TX they have really went down on street racers; there they got off easy. First it was a 200 dollar ticket first offense, then around 500-600, and for the past couple months, beginining of summer, they said first offense you go to jail for 30 days, car impounded for atleast 30 days, lose your license for i think 6 months and a big ass fine with it. Spectators get tickets too i believe, maybe license suspended too. But here there have been around 5-10 atleast deaths in just my area of SA b/c of racing and cars (of coruse here when you get pulled over i've had friends drive there lowered Civics through open fields and parking lots and everything to get away)

This is why I wont lower my car, sometimes I go places that requires the extra height.

What are you, following me around now? Given street racing may not be that great, but show me a legal place where people in the bay area can go, because I cant think of any. A lot of people I know hit up sac raceway or sears point but that gets played out and expensive.

I have seen footage from actual street races, and given it isnt as elobarate as f&f, they still usually block off street and make sure that the spectators get the hell out of the way.

just because they block off the streets and keep the spectators out of the way doesnt make it right. and if you have no place to go racing in the bay area that doesnt mean that you can race on the street!

god i get fed up with people like you who think that because there is no place else to race the street is ok. its not. if you think that there should be a place to race in the bay area then start hittin up the local government to help fund a drag strip. THAT would be the right thing to do.

I did that shit back in High School and made my money doing street racing...(in another country) We'd bribe the local police so they can keep the spectators at a distance and ensure safety (somewhat)...One of my employees mentioned to me about the Wednesday night racing in Oakland and I was going to stop by and watch...it was only 15 to 20 minutes away from my house...good thing I didnt, hahaha...I'm too old for that now, NOT...but seriously, I agree with Mr. Moderator. It's not legal because its not safe...people can die or seriously hurt. Just take it to any local track and do it right. Just my 02:finger:

there is a place called racelegal.com who is a perfect example. at that site you can read about the "code 4" program where on predetermined nights the local street racers can race the local off-duty cops.
