Street Race Bust in Cali(WAY LONG!)

Hi all you racers in here. Wow, well, here is the story. On Friday, the 19th i decide im going to go up to Tracy, California for some good old fashioned street racing. Mind you this is my very first time at a big street race by myself in my own car. when i get there, Approximately 12:00 am. i have myself a few good races. 2 against an 80's porsche'. I win both but the first time i messed up my shifting(in a 1995 Stang GT,AODE, Stock) so i decide id give him another go just to do it right. i also raced a few civic Si's, a crx, and a FAKE WHITE MUSTANG COBRA. ill get back to the "cobra in a bit".
i won the race against the civics and won against the,ehem, "COBRA". its about 12:45 when i race the "COBRA". When i finished beating the cobra, he comes up next to me again and askes me "Dont we have the same engine? uh the four point six?" i say "naw man, this is a '95, i got the five oh, stock, AND automatic". he says, "ya i know" in a "i cant believe he beat me" sorta voice. but ANYWAYS i race a few more of the same cars and win, but as soon as the clock struck 1 am, everybody starts to run from what seems to be the cops, little did all 150 of us know what was going to happen. The cops had closed off all of the exits. We were FU**ED. 8 cop cars blocked off all the exits, we scattered EVERYWHERE, no one knew where to go. When we finally knew we were screwed, we all settled down and listened to what the cops told us to do. we had to line up in 2 rows. It's about 1:30. We were waiting for the cops to take action. we waited for a LONG time. all of us sat in our cars for 3 and a half hours til 5 am. that is when they started to tow cars. 78 of the 150 were towed, my car was one of the last to be towed, one after the other they just kept going and as the line got shorter, i knew that i was screwed too, see, at about 4:00 am, word got through that there were undercover cars mixed in with us TAKING VIDEO, and guess one of the undercover cops were? THE FAKE WHITE MUSTANG COBRA! WTF! I RACED THE DAMN COP! I was so pissed cuz when it was his turn to be towed, i see him talking to the CHP and see him and the cop smile, then he leaves, after that i knew, then i added the factors together, older guy+older woman in passenger seat+fake cobra+guy that has no clue about mustangs+my girlfriend telling me that he made a slitting throat gesture with his finger at her when i was not looking+having a few laughs with the CHP+getting let go 1 minute after my car gets towed=COP. I ended up calling my girlfriends friend Jorge and begging for a ride, he was kind enough to get up at 6:30 to get us at the nearby gas station, me and my girlfriend live about 25 miles away in Concord, CA. I have to say, that was the best and worst night of my life. I win all of my races, but GET MY CAR IMPOUNDED FOR 30 DAYS! how incredibly gay... well...that is my story, i chose to race illegally, chose the wrong night and now im going to have to raise a grand to get my car out of the impound. Damn, and i had just ordered and exhaust for it the day before too. So what should i leave you guys with? hmm, i guess, its dumb to street race,i dont recomend it, you could get hurt or killed, go to a track or something, just dont do it on the street, im gonna go legit, SEARS POINT RACEWAY HERE I COME! so guys, go fast, be safe, do it legit, and and have fun doing it, cuz man, i gotta tell you, i dont think street racing is worth it, it definetly isnt. They do that in Philly now. Block off the streets so no one can get away. They are more about giving tickets than towing everybody. I have seen two cars race and at the end of road a cop would sit there towing the cars that justed race. But just a pair at a time. That sucks man.

If this is true, and you have thus far not given me any reasons to doubt you, I would contact a lawyer. If the white Mustang was in fact a Police Officer and he raced you to get you to commit a crime, this is most likely entrapment.
Shitty thing about street racing; no matter which way you cut it, its illegal. You lose no matter if you win or not.

Wow, you got SERIOUSLY lucky. You do know that they have the right to sell your car now, and to keep the money to boot. Since TF&TF2 they imposed that new law in California. My buddy usually street races (He does the bigger ones involving money). He has seen cars get towed away, knowing full well they are being sold by the state. Anyways good kill on the cop. Sounds like that particular cop was immature (Hand signs to you GF signalled that). Personally i've seen some really dummkopf's hired as police officers. Try to keep it to the track for now on. Cops can't do shit there.

I guess i'm lucky. Where i live the cops wont tow your car, and they will rarely right more than 1 ticket. They just come to the street race and get on their big intercom and say "get yall's ass out of here now!" or something along those lines. Then he just writes the last person to be able to leave a ticket, for some reason its always a honda..... j/k.

you know there was a stang around here awhile back that was getting people to race at this festival, lot of people bring there cars there to show'em and what not. Anyways the stang was a cop and he nailed quite a few people, but he was the one engaging the races going up to people and asking them to race. I figured that would be entrapment, but try to take that to court *rolls eyes* the judge will just laugh and tell you that you shouldn't have been racing.

race only people you know and do it safely, that sucks. That cop truely did sound like an ass.. my city's full of them, that's why I've laid off going all out I'll go up the speed limit and typically call it quits.

i thought about it and it really isn't entrapment... they do the same thing busting prostitutes being the first one to initiate it.

but i do find it weird that your third post on this forum you are busted for street racing. are we that convincing here? :O

haha, its not entrapment unless the guy put a gun to his face and told him "Race him, now floor it or I will kill you!"

See no one forced him to race, so Its not entrapment.




Also, I dont know how you can miss a shift. Ive manually shifted my car and it doesnt miss a shift. But at times I dont bother looking at the dash and I bog down cause I hit fuel cut though so I guess that counts as a miss shift...

and it's only entrapment if the officer initiates it. i.e. both pull up to light, he revs at you first. you race. he gets fired.

actually, it is entrapment if the officer commits the crime in order to coerce you to do the same. They dont actually bone the prosties, they just get intent. When the guy committed the crime in order for you to follow suit, he broke the law, therefore giving you a case for entrapment.

Ah, if a cop comes up to you, and asks you to street race. That is entrapment. They cannot coerce you to do the crime (Kinda like how a undercover female officer cannot go up to you and say that she will fuck you for $100, while undercover). There are alot of safety issues in this case. Why would a cop endanger the lives of others through street racing? I'd bring that up in court. No matter what you will get a misdemeanor (Unless you hire a lawyer, and have it reduced to a citation).

OH yea, Entrapment. Yeah that movie is badass... speaking of Ass... Catherine Zeta-Jones has a nice one.
