I have a stock 91HBcx. i plan to do a swap in like 6 month to a b16a. but i have a little cash to spend. So what should i get an exshated? or get suspension work? such as tiebar, strut braces, coilover and a rear sway bar. Were could i get all this stuff also for a good price.

do you want to go fast around corners or in a staight line? that is really what you need to decide.
you should talk to habib_88 if you plan to do suspension. he'll tell you what you should get...and he'll suggest stuff in a realistic pricerange. ami

Lower your car first. You can spend a lot on Coilovers but if you do get the real kind, or you can just get struts and springs which is good enough. Then you will want to reenforce the frame with strut and tie bars. Then get a rear anti-sway bar.

I would probably go with suspension as well if I was seriously planning a swap to B16 in the near future...
I'm not sure about this, but I don't think headers or intake for a 91HB will work with the B16 engine. So it would be a waste of money to buy them and then have to turn around and buy some new ones in a few months. Like I said, I'm not sure about that, but you should research it.

if ur going 4 turns upgrade ur suspension. headers for ur engine u have now wont fit a 'b' series motor, so buy that stuff after the swap.

You guys from Canada - I just got back from Vancouver, saw quite a few 4th gen civics up there -
question: is it the law to drive with you lights on during the day? Seems like most people did... |

Suspension MMMMMM
here is what i would do 1 I wouldnt do a coilover system i would get a hole setup like JIC or Progress. I have a coil over system and hate it its a good one to its just the shocks arent made to go with the springs and every thing so your not going to get the best ride out of it as you could with a hole kit in my opion. Espicaly with a like a JIC kit you get pilow ball mounts and the hole 9 but its allso 1800$ 2 I would get a rear disk swap durms just dont look good hahaha 3 poly bushings 4 strut and tie bars after all that you could kill any corner you want realy basicly spend the $$ or save up for suspension dont cut corners I wish i would of wated big time now !!!!!

Don't forget to save up for the swap since you need mounts, shiftlinkage, etc. tune up parts, and since you have a cx you need new knuckles up front!!

Suspension yes... But what about braking... Powerslot has a saying 60 to 0 is important too...... Frankly I think the braking system on our cars is really weak and if you are going to go fast you need to be able to stop. Upgrade your front brakes with slightly oversized rotors new calipers new brake pads and new braided lines... I wouldn't worry about the rear as much unless you are worried about looking cool and have rims with big gaps. As far as suspension get a good set of springs that lower no more than 1.5"... I am going for .75"...... get a good set of shocks and struts.. Help me out guys dont the 4th gens have shocks in the front struts in the back? Get poly bushings and use some stiff stuff (tie bars, strut tower braces, sway bars etc) you should be good to go after that. Don't be cheap or you will regret it. Are you doing the engine swap yourself?
