Custom Sub Enclosure

Well I Got Started On My Custom Sub Enclosure Today!!! Its The Enclosure Where You Form Fiberglass Around The Spare Tire Well!!!! It's Turning Out Great, its very easy but time consuming!!!! Its Perfect If You Want Space In The back Of Your Hatch, But Still Want Beats Im Putting In two 12" subs, its also perfect for people who want to keep their stuff from getting stolen you can make is look like a floor if you put carpet over it (which is what i am doing). Ill Get Some Pics of the Whole Process Up Real Soon!!!

Is yours going to be flat and flush with the floor? Seems like you'd need quite a bit more air-space for 2 twelves...

Can't wait to see the pics though.

Its About 5-6 inches higher than the floor!!! You Would Be Really Surprised On How Much Room The Spare Tire Well Produces!!! I Was Going To Go With One 15" sub for the clean one speaker look, but i decided to think logically (hey its a civic, not a SUV)!!! The Nice Thing About The Way I Made The Enclosure Is If I Ever Upgrade My Subs To Huge Magnet Subs, all i have to do is raise the flore with a 2/4's!!! But The Main Benifit About This Encosure Is That It Looks Like A Floor So It Will keep Thiefs Away, And YOu Dont Have To Sacrifice No Trunk Space Like YOu Do With A Box!!!

pics will be up soon

i am also thinking about making these enclosures and selling them. if i get enough people that want them i might just consider it!!!

you need a lot of power to make a 15" sound good.

The REPLY

Where Did That Come From!!!!! It All Depends On The Subwoffer!!!! Some 12"s Take More Power Than 15"s!!!! You Can't Just Assume That If A Sub Is 3 inches bigger you need to power it more!!!! Yes Some 15"s Do Take A Lot Of Power, But Most Of The GOOD 15"s Are At About 300-600 watts RMS (of course that differs from sub to sub)!!!!! The Only Reason I Want 2 12"s, Rather Than One 15" Is Because They Will Sound Better, And React Much Quicker To The Changing BASS!!!!

Well Its Up To You!!!! You Can Mold The Box Around Your Spare Tire If YOu Want, But I Would Then Suggest Make The Box HIGHER!!!!!! The Box Is Very Easy To Remove So You Can Get At The Tire Very Easily, But I Went With No Tire, Because Im Trying TO Modify My Car, Not Leave It Stock!!! I'm Sure Ill Regret It Later BUT OH WELL!!!!
