Dude I hate to be the devil's advocate but did you measure out your internal air space? I mean, it look like you have about 1.5-2 cu. ft. of internal space, but is that enough for the subs. Don't choose your subs for the looks or performance in another box, choose them for the application. Also, I would lay down some sound deadening on the fiberglass on the bottom. True, fiberglass does absorb resonance in mat form but not in it's cured state. Try a couple strips of dynamat. It won't quiet the thump but it will clean up the resonances and those suck ass reflected waves. Box looks good but make sure your considering the application for the subs.

Yeah man I agree with him. That's a pretty small enclosure for two 12's. Ya might want to think about putting some ports in it or something. But you can do that later, just put them in and see how they do and if it needs ports then put some in it.

The specs for MTX 6000 speakers are pretty tight.. Minimum volume for a 12" 6000 is only 1cuft sealed and 2cuft ported. If its a sealed box, he might be pushin 2.5 feet, judging by the picture.

Here is the spec sheet for your subs (I assumed they are the single voice coil 4ohm subs)

It'll probably sound pretty good. Personally I prefer ported boxes just because I like my music loud and clear with some bass added in. Anyway those boxes ought to be fine. Just some advice don't buy cheap subs just because they're name brand. Especially like the cheap MTX's and Rockfords, ya know the ones with like paper cones and everything, they suck. There's some subs in JCWhitney made by MB acoustics, they make stage equipment for bands, the 12's are like 40 bucks a piece or less, it's a poly cone, dual voice coil, extended back plate, and they'll handle like 500 max watts., oh yeah and they have a 96 db sensitivity. To put it simply they're kick ass subs for less money than cheap MTX's or Rockfords or even lightning audio. I have two of the MB 8's on 300 watts right now, they kick ass for 8's that's all there is to say. Here's my enclosures, I made mine small, it works great for the 8's but with tens it might need some ports. Sorry the pictures suck, the garage is too dark for my digital camera, that's why there's a droplight in one of the pics. I've still got some work to do on the back of the boxes, the hatch makes it hard to seal them, I figured out how I'm going to do it but I don't have enough time to cut out the patterns to do it, let alone cut the wood.

Umm, ported boxes are more sloppy and their cutoffs are much different. Ported boxes are usually used for louder bass and higher SPL, while sealed boxes tend to sound a little more "tight" with sharper cutoff at the end of the notes.

First Off The The Pictures Are Very Decieving The Box Has Plenty Of Space For ANY 12 in Subwoffers!! Also I Did Have A Ported Bandpass Box Once And Will Never Go That ROute Again!!! I Have Sealed The Bottom Of The Enclosure Also, On Top Of The 3-4 coats of resin, and fiberglass mat!! The Box Will Sound Awesome When I Am Done With It!!

MTX is coming out with some really kick ass stuff. MTX of yesterday is not the MTX of today! last time my spl was tested it hit 140. all i had was a MTX Thunder 500d amp and a Thunder 8000 12" sub (a couple of 6" mids in the door).....not too bad for only 1 12"

don't forget that if you put ports in a box you have to have more airspace.
