Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

Okay.
It shows up REALLY bad on black. Swirling.

I use Meguiars.
Check out this thread, I outlined what I do.

Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

Its not swirling from wax..its circles of tiny tiny hairline scratches..Is swirling another term for hairline scratches in a circle? I thought swirling was something else which happens with waxing.

Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

Waxing shouldn't cause swirling. It should help get rid of it.

Are you able to get pics of it??

Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

Ok i was misinformed. I always thought swirling was from improper waxing. Ill get some pics and put em up..hold on.

Had to find a spot where i could zoom in real good to see it..

Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

Meguiars Cleaner Wax works good as a swirl mark remover. 3M also makes a product that i use when i buff cars call "swirl mark remover" that works wonders, its rather pricey though.

I have used both, both great products and well worth the extra money!!

To avoid getting those swirl marks, you may also want to move your hand in a straight back and forth motion when waxing instead of in a circle (sounds like I'm talking about something else doesn't it?). Sorry, couldn't resist the joke. Anyway, I heard about that about 10 years ago and tried it and it worked great especially on dark cars. You may want to not rub so hard either, that might help prevent getting those scratches again.

Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong but, I always thought spiderwebbing was when your paint had very small cracks that spread out because it was drying out.? GOOD LUCK

Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

I don't know. Cleaner wax will take out the dirt in the paint and possibly take out the scratches in the clear. That's what it looks like you have. If that doesn't work try SMALL AMOUNT OF RUBBING COMPOUND WITH HAND AND VERY VERY LITTLE PRESSURE!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE A BUFFER AND RUBBING COMPOUND!!!!!!!!!

The cleaner wax should work though, try it first. Meguir's or 3M. Both great but, I prefer 3M.

Re: possible to get rid of spider webbing?

Don't know. Never used that. Try it. If it doesn't then look for Meg. cleaner wax (step 1). Or the 3M. Look at the label front/back to see what they do.
