Yamaha YZF-R1 Almost Finished *PICS*

Here's my Yamaha YZF-R1 bike sans front cowling. Everything but the bodywork is complete. Right now, I am not sure whether to use a softer, pure white or a very bright, hard, whitest-of-the-white white. Oh well, since you guys like pics, here's some pics!!

Pic I used for reference:

That looks fantastic, excellent work! Love the heat staining on the exhaust, you can tell you paid close attention to the ref pics.

May i suggest on your next one, try applying thin washes to the engine, brake discs - all the mechanical parts and event on the weld seems. It will really bring out the detail.

Thanks for the comments everyone To answer some questions:

ales - I took them in my modeling room aka dining room. The camera was set for a 2.5 second long exposure on smallest fstop and the white balance was set so that the fluorescent light would not interfere with the color quality.

pman - Yup, all discs are drilled out

flyonthewall - I have thought about doing that, what kind of paint would you recommend (what ratio paint to thinner)?

I usually use a satin or flat enamel black thinned very heavily at a ratio of, well, i have no idea as i dont work with a specific ratio. Try experimenting, you could also try acrylics (less risk) and oil paints.

Yeah, I don't know how the enamel thinner would react with the tamiya acrylics I used to paint the engine. I'll have to experiment and see, thanks.
