Question Any ideas on interior heat?

Here's the deal.....
I get a lot of heat coming from under my console down on my feet and such. My car temp never gets hot so i'm thinking maybe my cat gets really hot. My car used to b auto so i pulled off the console and used carpet padding to block everything around the shifter but it still gets hot. The shifter gets pretty hot 2. If i have my windows down it gets worse. I need 2 fix this cause it sucks & i drive my car a lot.

sounds like something with your shifter, try taking the integra console out and drive around with it off.

there's nothing wrong with my shifter..... it's the heat that comes from that area.

i had the console off 4 a week and the heat just poured thru the opening like i had the heater on. that's why i put the carpet padding there.

So, are you saying that you actually have holes in the floor of the car (around the shifter area)? If so, I'd recommend having some sheet-metal welded in to fill the holes...

after i've been on the highway an hour i notice my shifter getting wicked hot too, but mines always been a stick never and auto. Yeah, i'd get some sheet metal and weld over the holes, it'll reduce the hear blowing in. Also, like 4gen said, make yourself a heat shield.

if you think its something else, run your car for a while til it gets wicked hot and crawl under and see where its coming from.
