1000hp
787ftlbs
6 cylinders
1 Turbo

Actually, it really comes down to personal prefrence. Just about any motor can be made powerful.

Re: Best Engine?

the ls1 is a good engine. is it the best one? no. i would have to say the best engine for a race car would probably sit in an F1 car, unless your talking dragsters. the ls1 does have good power and potential, its not a bad engine to start with. what kind of racing are you talking about though?

really though there is no best engine, it is all preference. pushrods can be a blast, theres also some satisfaction in have a 4 banger that can rev to 9k rpm. i would love to have a crack at the ford-cosworth 2.3l that makes 260hp.

for me, i dont know if theres any engine id rather have in a race car than a built ford 351c.

It doesn't matter. Whatever engine you want to use, use it. Racing is more than just a motor. Pretty much any engine out there that in some way shape or form can handle any power can be made for racing.

Thats a pretty blanket statement.

An LS(insert choice here) can make 1k. So can an S50. Or a 4G63, or a 2JZ-GTE, or an RB26, or the motor from a Viper. Shit, with the right tunning, I'm sure a B18 can make more than 1k.

Re: Best Engine?

thats too broad of a question. if u say what engine into a specific car, now it would be a question. this question is too broad. anything can be make quick. like in a 240sx, some may say the rb26tt i think it is, the ka motor, the sr20 motor, there is too many possibliities. its all on your opinion and preference on how u want the car to how to say this.....speak maybe?

Wrong section, too broad of a question.

You won't get any good answers out of this thread, trust me.
