Shaving down tires???

I have started my Tamiya Celica kit now and I want to use the stock wheels from my Revell ITR on it. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to make tires thinner, because the ITR wheels are much bigger then the Celica wheels??? Someone help me out please!

Do you mean the width is bigger or the diameter?

I was thinking he means the diameter of the wheel is greater.

-I come to this conclusion beacuse the says the need to be thinner NOT narrower.

but I could be wrong

I see, so you want to use the ITR rims with the celica tyres right? Obviously the rims are too big so u want to shave away from the inside of the tyres to open them up to fit the itr rims, yes?...If so, thats gonna be tricky! I've never done it, but if it can be done your going to need a motor tool with a large sanding drum attached, i imagine the results will be quite poor!...

Get new tyres!

Ya, the diameter of the ITR wheel is bigger, and I agree now, it may be kinda tricky... so I was thinkin of sayin I lost my tires for my ITR and order new ones off of Revell-Monogram.com ........ but I dont know whether to put in TIRE or TIRE x4 to get 4 new tires??! anybody know what I should do?

I tried that... the wheel fits in the tamiya tire but then it looks like an off-road tire cuz it bulges out so big.....

I got the RE-71 tires that come with the Tamiya WRX kit to go on the ITR wheels. You have to remove the ridge that runs around the outside of the rim. I did mine with a Dremel.

I dont think that removing the ridge will help.... the tires just bulge out.... i need to somehow shave them down fromthe inside or order replacement revell-ITR tires but I dont know what to put in the form for getting new ones ("tire" or "tire x 4") ??! ...

For the missing and lost parts, I would try to imput "tire" 4 times on their list.

Trust me. Find a way to get rid of that ridge... Be carefull not to hurt the face of the wheel while you do it...

Good luck...because i think you will have a hell of a job doing it. I dont really know what would be the best way to go as i 've never heard of it being done before.
Maybe a visit to HLJ to save the trouble ??
