the real world

I have been reading a lot of posts on comparisons of the 350Z vs f-body and svt cobras. As the previous owner of 99 CamaroSS #2496 i can tell you a little about the LS1 and as my wife drives 2002 WS6 #7459 i can tell you about that also. First off the 350Z is a fine piece of work and i am sure in the future nissan will platform it up considerably. being its been awhile this new release will have some quirks to work out and i bet you the next couple of years nissan will beef it up a lot. just like GM and Ford have done over the past few years. I cannot say a lot about the new Cobra as i have not seen one yet and i have not raced one but i am looking forward to it. I can say the LS1 in the Z28, CamaroSS, FireHawk, and Trans Am are all the same car except on styleing. I can tell you for a fact Car and Driver ,Motortrend, etc etc etc may have gotten a 5.5 second 0 to 60 but that car was not broke in. The LS1 needs some break in time and after about 3k miles 4.9 to 5.3 are the average depending on if you have the luck of owning a factory freak or not. 12:9 to 13:7 are around the average for the LS1 in the 1/4 mile for f-bodies. tons of guys get after market parts like Lid, K&N filter, throttle body, exhausts like loudmouths, gears, cold air, pulleys, STB SFC MAF and the list goes on. Most of this stuff is not to bad in price and affordable. let alone the nasty stuff like NOS and superchargers. I have seen plenty of them run low to high 12;s and be daily drivers. Now the point of the post is this. Don't go looking for these cars while yer still stock or yer gonna get owned. But give it time the 350Z is a beautiful car awesome ride and it won't be long at all and it will be competeing with the best of them. 5.4 0 to 60 and 13:9 is pretty awesome for a 6 cylinder and i can't wait till they beef it up even more. Long live the new Z

Yeh its gonna be great. You said the magazines got 5.5 for those cars and they weren't broken in but either was the Z and they got a 5.4, you know what I mean. I think there gonna be wuicker than people think.
