oil leak

ok guys i think i know what the problem is but want to know what you guys think. i am leaking oil where my transmission and my motor go together at my best guess is that its a rear main seal what do you think? and its not a lil leak its leaking alot real quick thanx for your help

Odds are it is your rear main seal. But double check the back of your valve covers and make sure none is leaking back there.

i just replaced all the gasket around there hopeing that would fix the problem but it didnt and that is what i was thinking also thanx for your help

well i replaced rear main seal and it was still leaking when i found out where it was leaking i was pissed. it was leaking from my damn distributer

Man, that blows big time. I didn't even think about the distributor. That completely slipped my mind, I'm so used to having the coils, didn't even think about how the 2.8's and 3.1's had the distributor behind the intake. Well luckily you found where it was leaking for and got it fixed. That just sucks you had to replace the rear main seal just to find that out. How hard was the rear main seal to replace? I know I've got a tiny oil leak, not bad at all though. It was a little worse a while back before I switched to synthetic. Now it's almost completely stopped. But i figure I just hit 110k miles, so that seals gonna be on it's way out eventually.
