Revell Eclipse GSX - complete finally..

Hi all.. I started this over a year ago, but had to put it on hold for a few months. I finally picked it up to finish and move on to something new..

There's a WIP thread here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...hlight=eclipse

The list of modifications include:
-scratch sunroof, glass and all
-scratch backseat (as seen in page 3 of the WIP.. hard to get a pic with the final model)
-scratch functional hood pins from leftover tank PE parts.
-scratch exhaust from aluminum tubes
-SAS PE brakes
-custom side mirrors (I lost the kit ones)
-modified headlights (as seen in page 4 of the WIP)
-detailed engine bay (from reference, my real car)
-Impul NSGTII wheels
-wing from Aoshima detail set
-oh.. and functional hood prop (it folds down when not in use)

I think that's all..

Anyways, here are the pics, hope you like it. I am pleased overall, but I feel like I could've done a better job on some parts.. oh well, I have such a closet backlog.. sometimes you just have to make yourself say "it's done".

Amazing! Stunning Eclipses have started popping up. This is just... awesome! I love all the little details - the magazine, the Ipod, the hood prop... the license plate! Great work, color me impressed, and I can't wait to see more from you.

Re: Revell Eclipse GSX - complete finally..

This is the best modded Eclipse I have ever seen. Great work. Engine bay details are impressive! Love the wheel choice too.

Is there a trick to creating crisp/legible scale items liek your magazine and the ipod? or is photoshop the best way?

I use photoshop for those things - and I like to think that mine look that good. The trick is to make sure the copy that you end up printing is on an image that is at least 300dpi. My printer can't do much better than that, but that works really well for me.

Your Revell Eclipse looks better than the one Revell uses as their model. Your model has persuaded me to get this kit next.

That looks so nice man. It doesn't stand out, it's aggressive, it's detailed, it's realistic, it's perfect. Very nice, I love it. I need to start working on mine again...

Major 2 thumbs up!

Yep totally agree with anyone else. The best modified Eclipse, given the bad nature of the model.

Congrats man... it reminds me of my old car...
