Both cars have around 320Hp, both cars represent the pinnacle of german engineering. What would be your pick ?

Does that include the Carrera GT? If so I'll take that. If not, then I'll take the 911.

Porsche. Like I've said before, the BMW is too boxy.

Since the comparison is between the M3 and the 911, I don't see any reason to include the Carrera GT, which is in a different league anyway...

Now, Now. As stated at CF i'd take the Porsche because of it's looks and cool wing. Excuse the 12 year-old question but does that include the Carrera 4?

Well this is tough comparo for me..... The M3 is way faster (isn't it?), but the Porsche looks so beautiful..... I don't know what to do!

I'd probably take the carrera though just because it's a PORSCHE a true sportscar company (up until the damn cayenne)

I thought the M3 goes 0-60 in like 4.8 sec and the carrera goes 0-60 in like 5.something

Arrow This is a good one...

I actually have to carefully think about this one. Here's my list of pluses for each car:

BMW

-Higher redline (I love high redlines)
-Newer design
-More spacious interior
-Save a few bucks over the Porsche

Porsche

-Rear-engined handling dynamics
-Porsche exclusivity (hey the Cayenne isn't on the market yet!)

I'd really have to get a chance to drive both, one after the other, to really get a sense of which I would prefer to take home. Although even though I was able to think of more positives on the BMW side.. I still think off-hand I'd take the Porsche.

I take the E46 M3...I'd even take an E36. This isn't too much of a tough call for me...I really just don't find Porsche's appealing. I respect their performance, but I just don't find them attractive in looks, or anything really.

The M3 is incredible! Every time I read something about it I just get more and more impressed. I hear it has some understeer, but that's tolerable.

I take the Porsche 996 Carrera any day but I hate all Cabriolets. The I like the sound of the M3 engine makes but the Porsches Flat 6 sounds so much better.

I don't like Cabriolets either.. It's not sporty
I like the roof to be there at all times
So, I would like the M3 Coupe, its not only cheaper, but better.
