Need help finding a song
There is this song that is played at work, I really like it, but I don't know the name of it. The only line of lyrics I can remember is, "the tale of Sir Gallahad"
Does anybody know what this song is called or who sang it? |

Re: Need help finding a song
Is it an older song? I seem to remember listening to a song with lyrics like that back in the 1970's. I think it was by a band like America or along those lines.

Re: Need help finding a song
only ones i could find- neither of them say anthing about the tale of sir galahad, but they mentioned sir galahad
Joan Baez Lyrics - SWEET SIR GALAHAD Sweet Sir Galahad came in through the window in the night when the moon was in the yard. He took her hand in his and shook the long hair from his neck and he told her she'd been working much too hard. It was true that ever since the day her crazy man had passed away to the land of poet's pride, she laughed and talked alot with new people on the block but always at evening time she cried. And here's to the dawn of their days. She moved her head a little down on the bed until it rested softly on his knee. And there she dropped her smile and there she sighed awhile, and told him all the sadness of those years that numbered three. Well you know I think my fate's belated because of all the hours I waited for the day when I'd no longer cry. I get myself to work by eight but oh, was I born too late, and do you think I'll fail at every single thing I try? And here's to the dawn of their days. He just put his arm around her and that's the way I found her eight months later to the day. The lines of a smile erased the tear tracks upon her face, a smile could linger, even stay. Sweet Sir Galahad went down with his gay bride of flowers, the prince of the hours of her lifetime. And here's to the dawn of their days, of their days. RICK WAKEMAN - "Sir Galahad" Taken from the castle feast To an abbey in the East Three knights stood in pride as one Lancelot beheld his son. Arthur's court he bade him come Galahad his bastard son Battles soon for him to fight Blessed his youthful son a knight. Arthur and the knights marvelous stone Floating upon the river alone Pointing from the rock The sword shining bright Glittering jewels, shimmering light. Pull me, pull me, pull me, pull me. Gawain first he tried to draw from the stone To wear by his side Each knight took his turn Brave to the last Faced with the sword remaining fast. Arthur called a knight young Galahad Saw in his sheath no sword he had Took him where the sword Held by the stone Offered him there to make it his own. Pull me, pull me, pull me, pull me. He fell on his knees to pull out the hilt And drew it with ease The dolorous stroke it was struck with pride The sword it was hung by Sir Gawain's side. |
