school food

Man my school food sucks. Today was probably the best meal i've had in a while, it was grilled cheese with curly fries. but we usually get something that's barely edible and really unhealthy. If you're on a sports team and training hard (as in a hard workout twice a day or more) then this food is just unable to sustain you. My school uses sodexho but i've been to some universities that use them and they have good food.

Anyone live on res? how's the food?

Re: school food

Cheese and fries is not healthy or edible (IMO) - choose to bring your own lunch you lazy lump. Get up 10 mins earlier.

he goes to a boarding school, so getting up early won't really do much.

Re: school food

plus i don't think i can get up earlier and still get a decent nights sleep, i wake up at 5:45 every morning lol. if i had the choice i'd get my own food and cook for myself but i don't really have that luxury.

Re: school food

You can't blame Sodexho for what the food in the cafeteria is, you need to find the school's dietician and take it up with them!

Every school over a certain size is supposed to have a full time dietician making sure the food being served is nutritionally sound, if the food is poor, complain to the school. If the school doesn't respond, complain to the school board.
You've got to realise, Sodexho charges a lot of money to run that cafeteria, that money comes from your parent's tax dollars, you have a right to receive good food.

Re: school food

yeah, i don't think my schools ever heard of the word diet. we don't have a full time dietician that i know of, and this food is far from nutritious. we've had all kinds of crap like nachos, poutine, and more yummy filthy food like that. the worst is when they get creative and try to reuse leftovers in something completely different. we sometimes find ourselves eating chicken caesar wraps with chicken from dinner a few days ago.

Re: school food

I don't think I ever did go out for lunch during high school. (I used to be a loser) okay who am I kidding I'll always be a loser.

I went to 3 high schools. One had good lunch. oooh man I loved the pizza. That generic, cheap, greasy, rectangular, 1/4 inch thick dough with not enough sauce and too much cheese.... yummm. Then we would have curry chicken and rice... yummm.... I loved my lunches in senior year. I remember I would always drink like 3-4 milks. People used to always give me theirs cuz they knew how much I love milk. You guys ever have milk chugging competitions?

FFA is like a cult at our school. they get angry when we call them that but its true, over 1/10 of the school body is an FFA member. they used to have contests during FFA week on who could drink a gallon of milk the fastest but weren't allowed to do it anymore because people who knew the risks signed up anyways and i guess the janitors didn't like cleaning up the puke since ur body can't handle that much lactose at once.

and how can people afford to go out for lunch every day? that gets sooo expensive

Re: school food

Oh geeze.

I was in a hostel last year, 85% of the time the food was fucking TERRIBLE. Cooked breakfast using powdered eggs, butter chicken was baked drumsticks with curry sauce poured over it...bleh. Sunday dinners were the worst, absolutely awful. Not very nutritious food either.

Their pizza was fantastic though.

Re: school food

Eh. my highschool's food is good enough.. it isnt terrible but not great either.

Except when they buy the 'bargain pack' from Kroger where you get like 24 chicken patties for 5 bucks and oh man they taste like crap.. but only then does it really suck other than that im fine with their food.

Re: school food

I think I've always been the onlyperson to never complain about school food. And shit, deal with it man. COmplaining about diet and healthy food. Atheletes need better food...you sound like a freakin' girl that just finish watching Oprah or The View.

Stay active and workout and it's fine, just dont go overboard on what they feed you.

Re: school food

ha! my school rocks, we've got pizza from domino's, smoothies and burgers and other stuff from nobody gives a fuck but they taste awesome. Now if you decide to leave for lunch it just happens that the school has a walmart, wendys, mcdonalds, zaxbys, kfc, subway, firehouse, quiznos and a chinese takeaway not so far away........there are advantages with living in school for richkids

Re: school food

my college is so small it doesn't provide any kind of catering, we go to the decent selection of fast food places, or the sandwish/café place. can't complain, it's much better than getting crappy food.

we had sedexho in my old school, it wasn't too bad actually, i mean as far a school food goes it was pretty good, pizza and that was good, they did really good chicken curry. shame they couldn't cook rice to save their lifes. it was like half cooked and half uncooked. not nice.
