hi guys.. i am about to buy a honda accord ex 2000 with 93k miles.. the owner told me that the transmission went bad and was changed at around 50 k by the honda dealer.. this is really unexpected with accords cause i have never heard of that happening atleast at 50 k .. anyways.. the owner says that the transmission was changed and not rebuilt and all work was done at the honda dealer since the car was still under warrantty..i want to know if there was any effect of the transmission change on the bluebook value. Would you guys recommend buying a car that had the transmission changed.. the person is asking for $ 8500 . please reply as soon as possible.I need to get to buy a car by today

Re: effect of transmission change on blue book
I4 or V6? Sedan or coupe? I know the 98-01 V6 tranny's are pretty weak, but I don't know about the I4's. A 6th Gen V6 normally runs 10,000 to 12,000 dollars. So, you might end up getting the better end of this deal.

Now, if you mean "would the same car WITHOUT a new transmission SELL for less?" -- who knows? Like with any used car -- it depends. What IS the blue book price anyway? and, by the way: Quote:
