Will 215 40 R17 Tires work Flawless?
I am going to buy tires and wheels today. I want the extra wide 215 but i am wondering will there be any rubbing on a stock height 2000 Civic EX 4 DOOR?
Its either that or the 205 |

i wouldnt think so on stock height, but if you ever plan to lower it, you might run into a problem. unless you dont care about camber

The optimal 17" size for your Civic would be a 205/40-17. If you were to use a 215, it would be too wide most likely and definitely too tall and would throw off your speedo among other things. Rememeber though, 40% of 205 which will be your sidewall height isn't very much. I hope the roads are good where you live. If this is your daily driver, you may want to consider 16" rims with a 205/45-16. That's a little more sidewall between your rims and the road.

I agree 215/40x17" is too big and too wide. Your car will accelerate like a tank, and feel sluggish.
Plus if you plan to drop your ride, which most of us do, you will rub.

205/40-17 is the correct size for your Civic. The 215/40-17 will rub
